Vintage 1982 Seiko SQ Quartz (8222-8029) – Silver Sunburst Dial

Overview: Up for sale is a beautiful, classic vintage Seiko SQ from July 1982. Featuring a reliable 8222 quartz workhorse movement and a stunning silver sunburst dial that catches the light beautifully, this watch represents the golden era of Seiko’s quartz revolution. The dial proudly displays the classic “Suwa Seikosha” double-triangle factory logo just above the 6 o’clock marker.

Condition Report:

• Overall: Excellent vintage condition. The movement has been tested, is running perfectly, and is keeping accurate time.
• Crystal: The original factory acrylic crystal has been carefully hand-polished, resulting in excellent clarity over the beautiful silver dial. As is typical for authentic, 40-year-old Seiko tension-ring crystals, there is some internal ‘crazing’ (a slightly frosted look) around the extreme outer beveled edge. It does not affect the readability of the watch and adds honest vintage character.
• Case & Bracelet: The stainless steel case and original signed clasp show minor, honest surface wear and hairline scratches consistent with its age and gentle use (highlighted in the macro photography).
• Sizing: Please refer to the sizing cone photograph. The watch is currently resting just above the 6 3/4″ mark, accommodating approximately a 6.5-inch wrist as pictured. There is room to expand the size by moving the pin outward on the clasp’s micro-adjustment holes.
