Herewith is a story which may be an indication of an important advance in American treatment of industrial problems. Two rival manufacturing firms, the Elgin National Watch Company, and the Hamilton Watch Company, by combining their resources of technical knowledge and skilled workers, and operating in direct conjunction with the United States Navy, have been able to put into production a needed implement of war, known as the Elapsed Time Clock.
